		<description>Yes, it&#039;s a scary thing that science can recreate viruses from our genome. But that&#039;s the point, isn&#039;t it? It&#039;s ALREADY in our genes, every one of us, since it infected some mammalian ancestor of ours millions of year ago. That&#039;s the reason why it&#039;s viable, and potentially infectious to any mammal including humans. (Which is a bit weird, considering it&#039;s still a part of us.) Any rate, the class of virus it is is stated in the article, it&#039;s a retrovirus, as the other commenter noted, the same as HIV. Instead of the usual system of DNA to RNA to protein, retroviruses hijack it and write themselves into your genetic code by virus to RNA to DNA transfer. 

My point? You probably shouldn&#039;t worry, since it&#039;s a nonactive part of your DNA already.</description>
