Scary New Airport Scanner

Posted in Computers & Technology, News, Travel by Elliott Back on March 14th, 2005.

This is quite scary:

Qinetiq Scanner

The company that makes this, QinetiQ, actually looks underneath people’s clothes to seek out hidden weapons or suspicious materials. Scary, but cool too!

I am sorry but, I am a federal employee and I will NOT subject myself to this type of scan. It’s bad enough that people can swap photos online. Now we are all going to be virtually strip searched while trying to board a plane? Oh, and Elliott. I don’t know if you have seen these machines in action but, I have and they ONLY permiate through clothing, nothing else. The images that you are seeing in reports and in photos have been photoshopped. You can see EVERYTHING, male or female so, we should ALL be concerned about this one! Talk about a civil liberties issue!!!

You guys are soo f*ck*d up!!! Why would you even do that, perv’s…… hahaha frigen ****!!!!!

  3. It does seem to show off the surface flesh pretty well, as if it is tuned to penetrate fabric and little else. Still, I don’t know why security officers would be interested in grainy photos of airport women… except as voyeurs.

Very useful and very scary at the same time.

If I was I girl I’d be very upset: imagine those security officers passing around photos of almost naked girls…
