Google Chrome 3’s “New Tab” Thumbnails Sucks
So I recently restarted my computer to find a new version of Google Chrome which has a pathetic “New Tab” page. Where the old one gave me a ton of recently viewed thumbnail icons (12, I think), the new only has 8! And they pathetically take up a mere fraction of the available real-estate on the monitor. If you don’t believe me, check out this screenshot of the feature-crippled Chrome 3 in action:
I’m not the only one to notice, there are a couple support threads on the Google Chrome Forums about this. More, sure to come.

Yeh me too, I just got chrome 3 and it installed by itself and i didn’t even know.. I love everything about it EXCEPT THE NEW TAB PAGE. IT sucks, why would they put something like this, you can hardly see the websites anymore by the way the size of the windows are… I like that you can now move them around and pin them there but they should of kept the same layout at chrome 2.
Not sure when I first noticed, but I’m in disappointment just like the author of this article. One would think there would be available a means to at least configure the recently visited thumbnails page. I could see Microsoft doing something like this, but was a bit surprised to see Google rolling out something so restrictive and obviously subjective to some group’s preference for that page. Not sure who… Google designers? Mac users? (ha) You?
Oh mac sucks I think mostly *** guys use mac. Also I do have one issue with chrome and thats the fact that save image as doesnt work proper on some of my computers if I rename the image while I save it then it saves without an extension. If I leave the name alone its fine. But on some of my computers it shows the image type proper and I can rename it no prob. Firefox same thing.
The old one only had 9, not 12, they only took one away, I dont mind it this way
Yeah It’s a smooth browser. Firefox is **** and IE is **** these days too. Chrome rules for browsers if you dont need plugins which I dont. I just want a browser thats a fast smooth running slick machine. Dont need hogs like IE and firefox even if chrome uses more ram I dont care it still acts slick. I dont see why it locked up on you or why you had to reboot your computer maybe you got **** computers or viruses.
I noticed the new tab page after Chrome loked up on me forcing a reboot
Yeah, I noticed the new tab page after Chrome loked up on me forcing a reboot. Why the hell was I not informed or notified of this update to my browser before it installed? The fact that it installed without any notification to me infuriates me. That’s almost as bad as Microsoft forcing updates on you. I tried the –old-new-tab-page thing to get the old tab page back but it didn’t work. I’m majorly angry right now.
