Counterstrike “Missing Map” Download Error
I was getting a lot of errors like the following:
CAsyncWavDataCache: 297 .wavs total 0 bytes, 0.00 % of capacity
Your map [maps/gg_aerelon_kalel_2.bsp] differs from the server’s.
Host_Error: Disconnected
Or the infamous missing map error:
Missing map maps/gg_aim_ag_texture_jungle-l.bsp, disconnecting
The trick is type sv_downloadurl=”" into the console:
] sv_downloadurl
“sv_downloadurl” = “http://khuda.net/csfastdl2/” ( def. “” )
replicated
– Location from which clients can download missing files
] sv_downloadurl = “”
Connecting to 75.125.186.220:27015…
Connected to 75.125.186.220:27015
See, my HL2 or CSS / CS:S client remembered the wrong server url to download maps from. Once you clear that out, it can go ahead and do its thing, meaning no more missing maps or map download errors!
Update 1:
Some people have said that setting these variables may also help, depending on your installation:
cl_allowupload 1
cl_allowdownload 1
cl_downloadfilter all
Update 2:
Some others recommended deleting the files from the caches in:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\*your name*\counter-strike source\cstrike\cache
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\*your name*\counter-strike source\cstrike\downloads

I had same issue, i set the proper connection settings in Internet Explorer. I normally use firefox so my IE was not set propertly. Once i did this, it started working
ITS EASY TO FIX, JUST JOIN ANOTHER MAP OF SAME KIND, I WANTED TO JOIN A DUST2, BUT IT SAID MISSING MAP, SO I JUST CONNECTED TO ANOTHER DUST2…..
AND JOINED THE ONE I WANTED TO JOIN AT FIRST, AND IT WORKED.
Argh. Still wont work. Not even after all of these suggestions. The only way is to manually dl the map of the net and install it into your cstrike/map/ folder. This is p1ss annoying.

how do u put sv_downloadurl in the consule?….so confused…
figured it out….but still not working!.. what should i do!…..cant even play on a server ;[

i downloaded the map and all but it isnt on my map menu please help! i have just downloaded a map that is rumored to be the best!
this method does not work for me. i get that error from all servers with a custom map.
this method is not working for me. everytime i reset the url it goes back to what it was fefore the reset every time it tryies to download a map.
What URL exactly are you resetting and how are you doing it ? because idk how.. im just trying the “sv_downloadurl” in console which isnt working.

me 3 i cant believe these problems have been going on for seems like 4 years by looking at some of these post dates. none of these have worked actually i couldnt get into a few maps and after i did all this i couldnt get into a few maps i had already been able to get into. so i reinstalled and now i cant get into almost any
Me nether. I can download not even one map. After I reinstalled css I wasn’t able to download map. HELP!!!
it keeps saying “Missing map maps/gg_aim_ag_texture_jungle-l.bsp, disconnecting”……or something like that. none of those methds worked. ;[
