My MacBook connects and works flawlessly with 4 out of 5 bars where my friend's Dell can't detect the network. Even Lenovo's connect well. I've also noticed that the iPad has a better reception than HTC smartphones. I’ve experienced the same thing. I know friends who have issues getting Vista to connect wirelessly in certain places randomly, and I'll pull out my mac and it works just fine. I haven't yet figured out the problem (mostly because I usually just give them my mac to use for the time being), but maybe that's a factor? What OS?
