Elliott C. Back: Internet & Technology

90% Growth? How about 210%!!

Posted in My Blog by Elliott Back on April 20th, 2005.

I just read Kottke’s analysis of NY-Times traffic this year, which showed a 96% increase this year. Of course, this made me wonder–how has my own traffic improved, compared to this online giant? I’ve only been writing this website since July (281 days ago), but Since my first week in the summer with an average of 26 visitors a day, my traffic has improved 213%, more than twice of the NYT! This excites me–and if you saw the distribution, it would excite you too:

So, you might wonder why people read this blog. Well, there are three reasons:

  • Original Content: Google Maps, the GLAT, WP Plugins, Expert Articles, Data Analysis
  • Google-friendly: Lots of people get here through Google, because my site is well-formed (syntactically)
  • Frequently updated: You might read here every now and then for the latest scoop, or whatnot. I do post news!

Anyway, I have exciting original content I am working on… will post when it’s done!
